Professor Charles Binam Bikoi, the Executive Secretary of CERDOTOLA has been elected as member of the Executive Board of the International Council of Music (CIM) on the occasion of the 37th General Meeting that took place from June 11th to 12th 2017 in Paphos (Cyprus).

Created in 1949, the international council of Music is AN INGOs (International non-governmental organization) that gathers musical institutions from the wide world.

The executive Board of CIM is constituted of a president and twelve members. The president is directly elected by the General Assembly and he serves a two-year term renewable once. Surrounded by general assemblies, the Executive Board takes all the necessary decisions in the name of the Council and insures the implementation of any other decisions of the General Assembly. Moreover, the Executive Board accepts new members and submits the General Assembly a report on the works of the Council and its financial situation.

Thanks to its members and their networks, the International Council of Music has a direct access to 1000 organizations in 150 countries and to 200 millions of people willing to develop and share their knowledge and experiences on various aspect of musical life.

On the occasion of the 36th elective General Assembly of CIM held in Rabat, Morocco from November 11th to 14th 2015, the Executive Secretary of CERDOTOLA had welcomed the holding of a General Assembly of CIM on the African continent after many years. Then he made strong proposals on the creation on the African continent of musical academy in order to bring African music on the same level of excellence like that of other continents.


CERDOTOLA has been admitted as member of CIM in the category of Specialised Organisations since 2012.
